Remember What?
I guess I've proven that its really easy to just not blog and live life as it goes, without long 'guess what I did' journal entries better suited to point form. And yet, I still feel as if a word or two may be appropriate. Recently Andrea and I and her visiting friend Cathie took a five-day trip to Seoul (a metropolis bulging at about 12.5 million incl. satellites), and it was like a bullet train into a different world. A city that is entirely unlike the city in which we are living. We arrived in Itaewan which is the foreigner district of the city, an area just snuggling the U.S. army barracks, ripe with English, and very multicultural--which was unsettling for Andrea and I. After being so visibly the only foreigners in our small area in Busan, it was strange to suddenly be in the middle of a well-mixed area, and not the staring-target of school children and the elderly.
